Voluntary Board Member Recruitment

Closing Date 31 January 2020

As the largest provider of new housing in Shetland, Hjaltland Housing Association builds, manages and maintains homes from Unst to Sumburgh and is run by a management committee composed of volunteers from all walks of life. We are community focused working closely with other agencies and organisations.

The management committee provides strong strategic leadership to our staff team, creating a dynamic and progressive organisation to help us achieve our business vision of “Providing homes and services that enable our tenants to thrive in communities where people are proud to live and work”.

We are looking to recruit additional committee members who have a range of skills and personal qualities that will strengthen our leadership and direction into the future. The role presents a fantastic opportunity to support and challenge staff ensuring we continue to provide high quality housing and services that our tenants and communities want.

We are particularly interested in recruiting individuals with skills and experience in the fields of financial management, construction, business development, health and social care or the legal sector.

The Association is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community. Applications are particularly welcome from women and members of ethnic minority groups as they are currently under represented on our board.

Meetings are held monthly in Lerwick. Committee Members are unpaid, but reasonable travel and other expenses are met.

Closing date 31 January 2020

Interviews will be held Week commencing 10 February 2020
