Housing Officer - Full Time Permanent Position

Housing Officer – Full time Permanent Position (35 hours per week)

Salary on a scale PA17-PA20 (Grade 6) £37,277 - £40,516 (including island allowance). An essential car user allowance of £1,708 and mileage rate will be paid in addition. The Association also operates a contributory occupational pension scheme.

We have an exciting opportunity for a person to join our housing management team as the Association continues to grow and develop.

The Housing Officer will be based in Lerwick and will support the Director of Housing in managing housing services, ensuring tenant needs are met, and maintaining compliance with housing legislation. Key duties include assisting tenants with tenancy issues, managing tenancy agreements, collecting rent, addressing antisocial behaviour, conducting inspections, and promoting tenant participation.

It is essential that you are a good communicator, have experience of working with people providing support and advice as well as the ability to handle difficult situations in a calm and sensitive manner. You will also have experience of completing reports and using computer systems including word and excel. Previous experience of working in the housing field would be desirable.

You will be educated to a higher level or equivalent in core subjects and a willingness to undertake further training.

Finance Assistant – Full time or Part Time (minimum 28 hours per week) Permanent Position

Salary on scale PA13-16 (Grade 5) £32,782 - £36,149 pro rata (including island allowance). In addition to the salary and allowances the Association operates a generous contributory occupational pension scheme.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dedicated team in supporting the delivery of high-quality housing services across Shetland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a good foundation in financial administration who is eager to contribute to a community-focused organisation committed to making a positive impact.

Based in Lerwick you will assist the Director of Finance in maintaining the financial records of the Association. You will be responsible for all aspects of purchase ledger processing including liaison with suppliers, statement reconciliations, petty cash and credit card administration. You will also assist in the maintenance and production of financial information, reports and returns ensuring compliance with Association and Regulatory deadlines.
