Health & Safety Administration Assistant – Part-Time (21hrs per week)
Hjaltland Housing Association is seeking a Health & Safety Administration Assistant.
This post suits a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail who enjoys a structured yet varied workload and can work confidently with colleagues or on their own.
The position is to support the Health and Safety Manager in compliance monitoring and routine office coordination. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, tracking training, auditing documentation, and ensuring health and safety records are up to date and well managed.
Salary on a scale PA9-12 (Grade 4); £29,729 - £33,271 pro-rata (including island allowance), plus Essential Car Allowance; £1,795.
The Association operates a contributory occupational pension scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will support the Health & Safety Manager in ensuring the organisation stays compliant by maintaining accurate records, preparing routine safety reports, and supporting audits.
- You will assist with the coordination of inspections, emergency drills and training activities, ensuring arrangements are clearly communicated and properly recorded.
- You’ll work closely with the Health & Safety Manager and support the communication of health and safety information to colleagues at all levels of the Association.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritise tasks, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills;
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record maintenance.
- Experience in administrative or office-based roles.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information.
- Working knowledge or awareness of health and safety practices and requirements.
- Intermediate level MS Office skills.
