Annual Report 2023/24

In October of this year we sent all tenants our ‘hot off the press’ Annual Report, detailing our performance during 2023/24 and providing some insight into all the work completed by the Association.

Mindful of the need to keep costs down and make efficiencies at every opportunity, this year we sent the Annual Report via email to as many tenants as possible. This in itself resulted in a saving of over £1000 on postage alone.

The Annual Report was accompanied by a short survey to get tenants feedback on the report itself, with the following results;

In terms of layout and information provided, what do you think about the 2023/24 Annual Report;

  • Excellent – 75.00%
  • Good – 25.00%
  • Poor or very poor – 0.00%

What aspects of this report do you think works well?

‘The well-planned layout is easy to read – it’s not too busy and is pleasant to look at. There’s lots of information contained in the report, which is laid-out in a way that is easy to understand.’

‘Informative, attractive layout, digital copy means there is no waste of paper and ink.’

Is there anything you recommend we change, or include, in next year’s annual report?

‘To keep your costs down, is a paper version cheaper to produce instead of card? Have you thought of keeping a list of tenants who prefer an on-line version, but still sending via post to all who don’t have the internet?’

‘I do think the physical, paper reports were better. It’s just easier to read than having to download it and zoom in.’

We are delighted to receive these recommendations and will take them forward when planning next year’s report. We will continue to email out the report, but where a tenant is explicit in requesting a paper-based copy, we will provide this for them. To gauge general satisfaction with the service, we also asked the following question;

Thinking about the rent you pay for your property, how do you rate the standard of accommodation and the services (repairs, advice, support etc) you receive from Hjaltland?

  • Excellent – 66.66%
  • Good – 33.33%
  • Poor or very poor – 0.00%
