The health and safety of our tenants, employees, contractors, and customers is our top priority.

March 16th 2020

Hjaltland is continually reviewing our Business Continuity Plan to reflect the advice of the Government and NHS to minimise any disruption on our service. In order to minimise unnecessary contact we would ask customers to consider whether their visit to the office is essential. The Association would recommend alternative methods of contact such as by phone (01595 694986) or email (mail@hjaltland.org).

The Association is planning how it will continue to provide a service to our customers should the Coronavirus affect our tenants and staff, including any contractors that we currently employ to carry out repairs or other work to tenant’s homes. We will follow the direction of Health Protection Scotland and you can download a copy of this at: https://www.hps.scot.nhs.uk/.

In the event of a staff member being in contact with anyone who has the virus we will expect that staff member to self-isolate and to work from home where possible.

In the event that staff absences impact on our ability to keep the office open we will close the office to visitors and where necessary redirect telephones to deliver our service remotely.

If our ability to carry out repairs is impacted we will only undertake emergency appointments and non-emergency repairs will be suspended.

If a tenant, or anyone in the household, has self-isolated, it is essential that they advise us so that we do not send any contractors or staff to their home until after the self-isolation period has ended. In order to protect the health and wellbeing of our tenants and staff we will ask a number of questions to ascertain whether a member of staff or a contractor are able to visit the property. This measure has been put in place to protect our tenants, staff & contractors.
