Your Rent – Your Views 2026/27

January 19th 2026

Tenants will soon be receiving emails and letters detailing the proposed rent increase for the 26/27 financial year, which, if approved, will be implemented as of Wednesday 1st April 2026. The information leaflet explains the rationale as to why rent has to increase at all, with a further breakdown of how tenants’ rent is spent, how the service has performed over the last 12 months and how the Association’s rent continues to meet the framework in terms of an affordability measure.

The Association’s Management Committee are inviting comments and feedback in relation to a proposed rent increase of 5.6% for 2026/27 – tenants receiving this via email will receive an electronic link, whilst those receiving the information via Royal Mail will be provided with a paper copy and a freepost envelope. Comments will be collected until Friday 6th February 2026, with a summary report being presented to the Management Committee on Thursday 19th February 2026.

Once a final decision on the rent increase has been made, tenants will be provided with at least four weeks written notice before the new rent levels commence from 1st April 2026.
